Warehouse space is a valuable resource for logistics, trade and production companies. This is why Kommissionier- und Handhabungstechnik GmbH (KHT) will be introducing a series of innovations at the LogiMAT 2019 that can be used to optimize warehouse logistics. As a trade fair highlight, the Gelsenkirchen company will introduce the MultiScan mobile measurement station, which scans and measures even complex shapes, and which can be combined with the TEXPRESS module, a new development that compresses voluminous textiles, thereby reducing the necessary storage space. These and other new KHT logistic solutions can be seen from February 19–21 in hall 3, stand B53. At the fair, company employees will demonstrate exactly how precise article data can increase value creation in logistics.
“The meaning of qualitative, high-value data is gaining importance as digitization progresses,” explained Christian Bauer, Managing Director, KHT Gmbh. This development is being driven by the rapidly growing e-commerce sector. In addition to this, companies from other sectors who want to optimize processes along their logistics chain also rely on precise article data.
At the press of a button the Gelsenkirchen company’s systems can provide the necessary data in seconds, with millimetre precision. As a result, it is possible to select the packaging within the customer order itself. “Easy handling and high reliability means our systems support warehouse planning, optimization and management,” stated Bauer.
The mobile measurement station MultiScan and the TEXPRESS module were developed for mobile use in an industrial environment. The MultiScan stands on a transport cart that is outside the network and equipped with infra-red sensors and an integrated scale that can be calibrated. The TEXPRESS module combined with the measurement station is particularly interesting for the textiles sector. The module compresses textiles during measurement and calculates the correct dispatch and storage volumes in the same step. As a result, only textiles are stored and not large air-filled packages.
In addition to the mobile solutions, KHT is also presenting a stationary data acquisition station for roller and belt conveyors at LogiMAT: the ProfileScan. This is a measuring frame that identifies, checks and classifies products based on their shape and does so at a speed of up to two meters per second. The data determined can be used for controlling the flow of materials, evaluating the quality of the transport goods and measuring product dimensions. To Christian Bauer, however, the presentation of new products is not the only important thing. “We also want to use LogiMAT to speak with the fair’s visitors about the future challenges in warehouse logistics.”
