A normal day for us in Technical Facility Service can involve a lot of different things. Along with servicing our HVAC and pneumatic systems, I’m also responsible for our building management system and our water supply. That involves checking our facilities’ energy consumption and making sure that they’re running efficiently. I’m also responsible for the contractors on the construction sites in Hart bei Graz, Dobl and Ilz. As you can see, our tasks are pretty wide-ranging, so you need to know a little bit of everything. In fact, everyone in our department has to be an allrounder, because there’s always something that needs repairing.

I trained for a job in HVAC and plumbing and have spent 15 years working in the field. I’ve collected a lot of experience that has been very valuable to me in my career. If you’re a newcomer to the field, with or without relevant training, one of the most important things is to never think that you’re above a certain task. You should also be a team player because we always help each other out, no matter what we’re working on.
