You can find out what his job involves, what makes it so enjoyable and why he is so glad to work at KNAPP right here!

What are your
main responsibilities?
My main task is procuring materials, goods, systems and services for our projects as well as for internal use. The focus is on placing orders for projects, which involves obtaining technical offers, evaluating them and staying within the budget. In Dobl, we also shoulder responsibility for part of the facility, fleet and IT management. My role involves a great deal of variety. But the challenges and the variety are just what makes it fun for me. We are also the “go-to” people for problems at the Dobl location. First, we always try to solve the problem ourselves, but when this is not possible, we initiate a process to get the problem quickly solved.
What kind of education, experience or interests should you have for your job?
We need people who are practical and feel at home in a manufacturing setting. The right person for this job is comfortable handling all types of units of measurement and technical drawings and can review the specifications documents. A commercial or technical education is desired, either an apprenticeship or high school diploma. We also work a great deal with MS Excel and SAP. I completed a commercial apprenticeship and applied to KNAPP about six years ago. Today, I am a Team Leader, and I am in a two-year internal training program under the company’s Procurement Academy, which was set up together with a local university of applied sciences.
My Job:
Varied. Adventurous. Multifaceted.
What do you like most about your job?
I work with a wide variety of international projects, which provide me with the opportunity to prove myself again and again. For example, on one day I am talking with suppliers from Germany, and the next day to suppliers from Spain or some other part of the world. This variety provides me with endless opportunities to show off my interpersonal communication skills. It’s also exciting to find out about new technologies and systems and to track their progress.
Why do you enjoy working for KNAPP?
I value the great teamwork, the friendly atmosphere and the daily challenges. My ideas and suggestions are taken seriously, and I have been entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities with a lot of autonomy in what I do. Over the years, I have made a lot of friends, who are important to me. A recent highlight was a cool team event where we went to Riegersburg for an archery competition and a campfire.
