WHAT YOU GET TO DO


The Assistant Corporate Counsel will assist and provide a range of legal support to Corporate Counsel, outside counsel, and various departments through performance of assigned tasks. 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

  • Review and draft legal documents including nondisclosure agreements (NDA’s) contracts, articles of incorporation, briefs and legal memoranda with support as required from Corporate Counsel
  • Assist Paralegal with preparation and filing of employee work visa applications
  • Coordinate with external immigration counsel to prepare and file green card applications
  • Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
  • Identify relevant statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material
  • Perform legal and factual research of records
  • Organize, cross-check, validate and analyze information
  • Prepare written reports and correspondence
  • Build and maintain databases and files
  • Review of employment agreements, NDA’s
  • Review and approval of change orders and proposals
  • Draft and review letters of intent (LOI’s)
  • Prepare weekly reports of open items and present to Corporate Counsel
  • Assist and provide support to Corporate and General Counsel and regarding various departments as assigned

 

WHAT YOU HAVE


  • J.D. Degree from an accredited institution.  A member of a state bar association and  in good standing with state licencing agency
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a corporate legal environment
    • Construction and/or technology fields preferred
    • Experience with immigration law a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles, practices, research techniques, terminology, communication principles, and practices
  • In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Relevant computer knowledge and experience
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to work under highly stressful situations with the requiring extreme confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment

 

Working Conditions and Environment:

 

  • Overtime, if required by work
  • Travel might be required, very occasionally
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Have or ability to obtain a valid passport
  • Physical requirements:
    • Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 25 pounds
