April 23, 2025. KNAPP celebrated the expansion of its day care center at its headquarters in Hart bei Graz, Austria. After a construction period of just six months, the KNAPP-Kinderwelt day care center is now able to accommodate up to 120 children aged 0–6 years. This means that KNAPP has almost doubled its childcare spots. A large Easter egg hunt and live music by the company band created a cheerful atmosphere.
More space for the little explorers
The KNAPP AG has been providing reliable and high-quality childcare for its employees’ offspring since 2013. Just two years later in 2015, the day care center was expanded for the first time, expanding childcare services from three to four groups of children. In the fiscal year 2024/25, the company decided to expand the day care center once again. The reasons for the decision were twofold: for one, to meet the increasing demand for childcare; for another, it was necessary to comply with the legal requirements concerning the maximum group size. After just six months of construction work, the indoor spaces of the expanded KNAPP-Kinderwelt opened their doors in October 2024, while the outdoor facilities were finished in November 2024. With new playground equipment such as trampolines, swings and jungle gyms, there will be no end to the fun. Furthermore, 25 trees were planted and the popular Bobby Car racetrack was extended for the little ones. Moreover, the new photovoltaic system with a collector area of approximately 400 m² (approximately 4,300 sq ft) and the air-conditioned rooms are setting new standards in terms of sustainability and comfort.
Maximum flexibility for parents
With RdK Steiermark GmbH, KNAPP AG has an experienced partner at its side. Flexible, all-day operating hours provide key support for parents returning to work. Day care is also offered to children from the communities in and around Hart bei Graz, which is a valuable addition to the local infrastructure. A total of 27 dedicated day care professionals ensure the children’s well-being. “This expansion underlines KNAPP’s continued commitment to help its employees strike a balance between their personal and professional lives. We are proud to run one of the most sophisticated day care centers in the greater Graz area, contributing immensely to the community and to fostering early childhood development”, enthuses KNAPP CFO Christian Grabner.
A party for the little ones
At the opening ceremony, around 200 grown-ups, children and siblings came to celebrate the special event, which was accompanied by KNAPP’s own employee band. As if that wasn’t fun enough, the children’s eyes really lit up when a huge Easter egg hunt was announced. This fun, exciting and unforgettable activity really made everyone’s day.
