ID Logistics honors KNAPP AMRs
The Open Shuttle Fork by KNAPP has won the 2024 SIX Challenge, hosted by the contract logistics provider ID Logistics. KNAPP’s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for internal pallet transport won both the overall competition and the automation category for Germany and Italy, marking the technology’s third such honor within the past year.
KNAPP technology triumphs at the SIX Challenge, winning 3rd award in a row
KNAPP’s Open Shuttle Fork AMR won over the jury at the 2024 SIX Challenge, which was hosted by the contract logistics provider ID Logistics. This year, all of ID Logistics’ customers, as well as their upper management, vote on the best innovations based on five criteria: degree of innovation, added value, feasibility, replicability and customer interest. The winners were crowned on June 20 in Griesheim, Germany, with the Open Shuttle Fork AMR for pallet transport winning the overall competition as well as the automation category for both Germany and Italy. As Germany and Italy’s national champion, Open Shuttle Fork has qualified for the upcoming international vote. This marks KNAPP’s third award for Open Shuttle Fork within the past year, having also taken home the Best of Industry Award 2023 and materialfluss’ 2023 Product of the Year.
“Open Shuttle Fork is an innovative intralogistics solution that is setting new standards in internal transport. We are delighted that our work developing the product and our know-how have earned us an award at the SIX Challenge,” says Gerhard Weigand, Head of Sales at KNAPP Deutschland GmbH.
Open Shuttle Fork: Transporting pallets the automated way
Open Shuttle Fork is an autonomous mobile robot that transports pallets and special load carriers automatically and flexibly. The robot features numerous functions, has many applications and turns on a dime. As the robot moves about, it safely avoids people and obstacles thanks to its 3D detection system. The industrial vehicle can also rotate around its own axis, move sideways and has an electric lifter. With its intelligent software, Open Shuttle Fork can be integrated into the warehouse quickly and start transporting pallets without requiring any changes to the existing infrastructure. Open Shuttle Fork offers the perfect starting point for automation, with the added benefits of short delivery and installation times.
2024 SIX Challenge honors innovative products
This year, the international contract logistics provider ID Logistics awards new technologies that improve the performance of supply chains. SIX is short for Supplier Innovation Xperience. The challenge invites companies to submit their products in various categories. After submissions have closed, a jury of experts from ID Logistics and their customers elects the winners. This year, they received 50 submissions in three categories.
