KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH, part of the multinational KNAPP group, headquartered in Hart bei Graz, is embarking on a new construction project and is continuing to invest in infrastructure. In autumn 2019, four additional storeys above the existing company cafeteria will be opened, containing brand new office space.
A continually growing number of orders and steady increase in the number of employees – currently 4,200 worldwide across the KNAPP group – both require and facilitate investment in the expansion of the 38 KNAPP sites around the globe. Currently, there are 580 employees working at the Austrian site in Leoben. This number grew by 75 in the last year alone. In 2018, the company, which specializes in automated storage and software solutions for the food retail industry, entered an order intake of over 200 million euros into the books. The outlook for the future is also bright: By 2025, the company intends to employ 1,000 employees at the site and continually increase its turnover.
Expansion policy to meet future growth
Ongoing infrastructural measures will lay the necessary foundations for the expansion policy. KNAPP Systemintegration only expanded its site to include a company cafeteria and a hall in 2014. In autumn 2016, the office space on the site was expanded and the manufacturing areas modernized. In addition, further parking areas for an extra 120 cars were opened in 2017.
The expansion policy is now entering the next phase: Four new storeys will be constructed on top of the building that houses the company cafeteria. Over the coming months, state-of-the-art, open-plan meeting rooms and office work stations will be built to provide 150 employees with a contemporary work space. An innovative design and an efficient use of available resources will set the project apart. The company is investing 3.9 million euros in the expansion, which will add around 2,000 m² to the current facilities.
Further investments are also planned, including purchasing a neighbouring plot of land to make room for future growth. Bernhard Rottenbücher is proud of the developments, “our aim is to continue to promote the internationalization of KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH. To do so, we need to create the necessary infrastructure and resources. KNAPP is making a significant commitment to the Leoben site.” Together with his fellow Managing Directors Franz Leitner and Rudolf Hansl, he is tremendously optimistic about the future.
Pleasant working environment for employees
At KNAPP, employee satisfaction and solidarity are incredibly important. The company cafeteria, the KNAPPvital health and wellness programme and flexible organization of working hours help employees to enjoy an ideal work-life balance. Value is placed on having the freedom to be creative, communicating as equals and on an open corporate culture to ensure that KNAPP plays an active role in shaping logistics, a sector with a bright future. KNAPP offers exciting challenges in an international environment as well as excellent career opportunities in diverse fields.
