What might your SAP® career at KNAPP IT Solutions look like?
Whether you are just getting started or are ready to level up your job, we offer the same benefits for your career whether you’re interested in management or working as a specialist. We work with you to track your personal development as an expert in your field or as a manager with annual skills reviews.
Getting started on the right foot – onboarding
Once you begin, your first step is meeting your mentor. Your mentor acts as a buddy during your first year, helping you professionally and with getting integrated into your team. At the same time, we lay a strong foundation of knowledge for your career path with structured onboarding. On top of the fundamentals of logistics and KNAPP specifics, we introduce you to SAP® EWM so you have a good grasp of the standard software. Should you go the route of developer with us, your onboarding will include training in the SAP programming language, ABAP. As a future consultant, in contrast, your training will include customizing the SAP® EWM software. Once your initial to-do list is completed, it’s time to work on your first customer project.
The human interface: Your role as an SAP® project manager
As an SAP® project manager, you will lead our project team to success. You’ll independently coordinate and manage all the activities involved in implementing SAP® software in automated warehouses around the globe. As the key liaison between the project team and the customer, you represent the customer internally and the company externally. Depending on the requirements of the project, you will use agile or waterfall methodology. You’ll hold presentations, coordination meetings and workshops in German or English, always keeping a cool head.
Everything at peak performance: Your role as an SAP® consultant
As an SAP® consultant, you will work with the warehouse logistics software SAP® EWM, which we implement for well-known customers worldwide. What exactly does this entail? During projects, you’ll work with and understand our customers’ requirements and show them how to best organize their business processes with SAP® EWM to achieve maximum benefits for their logistics. Together with your project team, you will then implement this solution and ensure the software is implemented smoothly at the customer’s site. You will also train the customer in selected processes and support them during the introduction of the SAP® system on site.
There’s no hardware without software: Your role as an SAP® developer
As an SAP® developer, you and your team are responsible for the technical design of our highly complex software solutions for logistics and automation. To get you started, we will introduce you to SAP’s own programming language, ABAP, which is object-oriented and easy to learn with experience in object-oriented programming. We will show you the SAP® EWM framework; you will also work with SAP® UI5 (Fiori) and Javascript. Using this tool set, you will fulfill complex customer requirements based on SAP® standards for the frontend as well as the backend. What you develop controls robots, shuttles and other innovative automation solutions to ultimately ensure that the shelves are stocked in pharmacies, supermarkets and other stores, or that online orders are delivered on time.
Plan, go live, rinse and repeat: Your role in SAP® Customer Service
In our Customer Service, there are three possible career paths for you to steadfastly serve our customers as an expert in all matters relating to SAP® by KNAPP.
In SAP® Support, you will ensure that the warehouse continues to operate smoothly after the SAP® solution goes live. This means that you restore the systems after any malfunctions and create the necessary documentation. As a Key Account Manager in SAP® Customer Service, you will be responsible for managing smaller follow-up projects for our established customers. This involves handling complex development tasks as well as consultation. The things you do to optimize processes and quality help our customers to continue to develop. As an SAP® Onsite Engineer, you will put our SAP® solutions into operation worldwide and support the customer and project teams directly on site during the warehouse’s ramp-up phase. You will also provide training to the customer.
